That lots of voters actually don't care about the riches and exploits of their favorite leaders is a lesson few are willing to take in. Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn was a dandy driven around in a Bentley and lived in a self-described 'palazzo'. Jörg Haider was a rich man, current far-right (and very popular) leader Kickl is a multi-millionaire; Boris Johnson raked in lots of money; Nigel Farage is a multi-millionaire who acts like one; Donald Trump literally dumps on golden toilets. Marine le Pen was convicted for campaign transgressions.
The lesson is that people don't care, for two reasons. One: their fave leaders are going in to kick over the kitchen table, and to this end most of their voters will go to any length do defend them. Two: they fully *expect* politicians to be corrupt money grubbers. It's priced in, so to say. Pointing it out will just see these voters shrug and fully agree that, yes, of course they are, but at least they will do this or that.
bardella news has me dancing a jig. fantastic!
A fine short review!
I like the inflation indexing of tax bands
maybe one could do less so at the upper end
Why do so many French believe that increased taxation at this point on those with freedom of choice would increase revenues rather than the reverse?
Isn't Luxembourg already seeing an increase in fund flows?
