"So, you're running away from Twitter"
I've set up subscriber chat for us to keep in touch, converse, and connect. Just in case Elon Musk nukes twitter.
So, you woke up one morning and realised that Twitter, likely your favourite website considering the type of people I have chosen to associate myself with in this life, is being torn apart by a madman with too much money and not enough sense.
With Elon Musk clearly intent on burning twitter to the ground because some socialist liberal Marxist was mean to him one time, things are getting very interesting and people are looking for a way out so they don’t have to read Andrew Tate or Donald Trump’s upcoming tantrums.
But fear not, dear readers, as not only is Twitter unlikely to implode and disappear anytime soon, but I’m also announcing a brand new addition to your favourite publication:subscriber chat!
What’s the plan?
According to what it says on thetin, this is a conversation space within the Substack app that you can use to speak to your fine fellow subscribers, and me, and react to whatever article you like, and have conversations between yourselves.
While I have no clue how this works or how it’ll work out, I have a rudimentary plan:
I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come to mind, and you can jump into the discussion to engage with the community that is developing around The French Dispatch.
I’ll also use this to get some feedback from you regarding what you like, what you don’t like, what you want to see, what interviews you’d like to read, and in general to make this a two-way discussion regarding content
To join your fellow subscribers, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I’ve already started my first chat thread so come on over and say hello!
Thank you for reading the French Dispatch! If you liked what you read please don’t hesitate to like this post and subscribe to the newsletter by clicking/tapping the button below:
